It seems to be my Raspberry Pi's desktop with weirdly distorted greyscale colours! Somehow, some part of the monitor setup is radiating it quite loudly into the aether. The frequency I'm listening to is a multiple of the monitor's pixel clock frequency. As it turns out, this vulnerability of some monitors has been known for a long time. In 1985, van Eck demonstrated how CRT monitors can be spied on from a distance[1]; and in 2004, Markus Kuhn showed that the same still works on flat-screen monitors[2]. The image is heavily distorted, but some shapes and even bigger text can be recognisable. So

However, for the last two weeks there has been no Tweetbot. It's former home now a glaring absence showing the desktop below. And gone with it is my consumption of Twitter. To say I dislike the Twitter web interface and native apps is an understatement. So for the past two weeks I've been exclusively on Mastodon. And since I've gained access to Ivory (by Tapbots) I've found I don't miss Twitter. The community on Mastodon has been growing rapidly, so if you've been putting off trying it out, I would encourage you to at least set up an account and start lurking. So like many others, outside of posting to my teams work account, I'm done with Twitter. The new management have made it place I no longer want or need to be. So if you need me, I'll be over on webperf.social Mastodon. And hopefully soon there will be a Mac version of Ivory to take up residence in that glaring Tweetbot shaped hole.

Look for hints of that attitude during the interview and if you find it before they are an employee then you should expect it to be even worse once they are an employee. 4. Look for Values Alignment / Culture Fit When I'm an interviewer, I care most about whether or not the candidate can do the technical work because, honestly, I can work with anyone - in the end all I care about (mostly) is whether or not the code works. Now if you are non technical then you don't care about that but you likely care a lot about value alignment and culture fit so dig in there. 5. Look at Work Practices Even if you aren't technical, you likely have some idea around work practices in development from either past experience or media. It is ok to ask a general question like "I have a bug in what you are working on - how do you handle it?". And then what you are looking for is some kind of logical approach.
