### AI overview

This article explains why an AI-ready private cloud requires more than adding GPUs. It focuses on how Broadcom and Cisco are integrating VMware Cloud Foundation with Cisco Nexus One Fabric to address AI workload networking, including bandwidth-intensive east-west traffic, bursty north-south traffic, latency, congestion management, and telemetry across virtual and physical infrastructure.

### Source excerpt

An AI-ready private cloud is not simply a private cloud with GPUs added to it. What determines whether a private cloud platform can actually serve AI workloads effectively is everything built around them: how the fabric carries traffic, how the tenancy model lets teams consume capacity, and how policy and telemetry stay coherent across the ... This StorageReview news article covers VMware Explore 2026 and Broadcom's focus on private cloud economics and agentic AI. It discusses infrastructure cost pressures, workload repatriation, decoupled compute, storage and networking layers, the VCF AI Assistant, configuration-drift detection, and ESXi live patching without virtual-machine downtime.

### Source excerpt

VMware Explore kicked off Monday morning, though the schedule felt unusual compared to past VMworld Explore events, as Broadcom moved the traditional opening keynote to the afternoon. That was not necessarily a bad thing, as it gave us time to catch a few breakout sessions and catch up with vendors on the show floor. This article compares the operational and financial trade-offs of Kubernetes release support models. It explains that the CNCF's 14-month support window requires frequent upgrades, creating testing, coordination, maintenance, and service-disruption risks. Hyperscalers such as Amazon EKS, Google GKE, and Azure AKS offer paid extended support, while VMware Cloud Foundation provides 24 months of standard support without incremental fees and Red Hat OpenShift offers a 36-month support window.

The article recaps a Devoxx France 2024 presentation on Keycloak's high-availability architecture. It explains Keycloak's multi-site capabilities for public and private clouds and notes that Keycloak 24 fully supports active/passive deployments with simpler configuration.

### Source excerpt

A single sign on solution for your customers and employees shouldn't be a single-point-of-failure in your architecture. At Devoxx France 2024, Ryan Emerson and Alexander Schwartz presented, from an architects and developer perspective, how Keycloak approached the problem. They describe which architecture the Keycloak team chose, the challenges they faced and which tools helped along the way. The slides and the recorded video are linked below. Scroll down for additional links and details of the tasks we're currently working on to further enhance the architecture. A clustered Keycloak deployment in a single site or datacenter provides sufficient availability for many. However, an increasing number of organizations need to utilize multiple sites for improved resiliency or to meet legal requirements. In 2023, Keycloak overhauled its multi-site capabilities for public and private cloud infrastructures, tested them thoroughly and provided deployment blueprints to the community. As part of the release of Keycloak 24, an active/passive setup is now fully supported. Read more about it in the new high availability guide published as part of Keycloak's documentation, and get more tools and background information in the Keycloak Benchmark Project. Since the previous blog post which covered Keycloak 23, we have made the configuration of such a setup simpler, with fewer options required by Keycloak and the Keycloak Operator. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback along the way, and those who participated in our survey in early 2023 which guided us in the implementation of this setup. Still, the journey doesn't stop here: The team is now working on durable sessions across restarts and upgrades, and a simpler Infinispan architecture which aims to eventually support active/active. Follow these issues and discussions to stay up-to-date with the latest developments, and provide feedback on Keycloak's nightly builds.

### AI overview

Signal presents a technology preview for secure value recovery. It describes using secure enclaves and key splitting to support private cloud storage and cross-platform durable state while keeping that state inaccessible to anyone except the user who created it.

### Source excerpt

At Signal, we want to make privacy simple. From the beginning, we've designed Signal so that your information is in your hands rather than ours. Technologies like Signal Protocol secure your messages so that they are never visible by anyone but you and the intended recipients. Technologies like private contact discovery, private groups, and sealed sender mean that we don't have a plaintext record of your contacts, social graph, profile name, location, group memberships, groups titles, group avatars, group attributes, or who is messaging whom. Plaintext databases have never been our style. We don't want to build a system where you trust us with your data; we want to build a system where you don't have to. We've been working on new techniques based on secure enclaves and key splitting that are designed to enhance and expand general capabilities for private cloud storage. Our aim is to unlock new possibilities and new functionality within Signal which require cross-platform long-term durable state, while verifiably keeping this state inaccessible to everyone but the user who created it.
