This is what I got for effort low: The transcript doesn't show any summarized reasoning tokens, and the output token count is 1,998. With Claude that output token count includes reasoning tokens. It took 23.8 seconds and cost 10.017 cents. I bumped that up to medium and got this: Weirdly, that one also shows no reasoning text and used 1,977 output tokens - 21 tokens less than low. It took 23 seconds and cost 9.912 cents. So for this particular prompt ("Generate an SVG of a pelican riding a bicycle") Fable 5.1 appeared to skip reasoning entirely at both low and medium settings. The default of extra high results in spectacular over-thinking Qwen's documentation describes the model as defaulting to xhigh for the reasoning effort, and the LM Studio GGUF I've been trying preserves that default: Qwen3.8 comes with official support for reasoning_effort, which can be used to adjust reasoning depth and control cost: xhigh (default): for complex tasks demanding thorough analysis medium: balancing accuracy and speed low: efficient reasoning optimizing for speed and cost This is a hilarious default. It's absolutely not a good way to run the model, especially on consumer hardware. I've been finding the results extremely entertaining. I quickly ran into problems with LM Studio's default context limit of 8,192 tokens - Qwen was using them all up thinking about even the most mundane of problems. I loaded the model with the full 262,144 maximum context length and that problem went away. Here's the pelican riding a bicycle SVG I got from my first attempt with that increased context length. I now went and made the repository public on GitHub: https://github.com/bugaevc/9pfs What's implemented is basic browsing (readdir, stat), path resolution (dir_lookup), and reading files (io_read). And below that, the whole tracking for nodes, peropens, protids, fids, tags, and 9p RPCs. Improvements are welcome, send patches to this list with [PATCH 9pfs] in the subject. A good starting point would be to continue porting things that I had implemented in the old netfs-based version (see netfs.c) but didn't yet port to the new one. He then got a little more motivated, and he added some write support! Etienne Brateau added validation to msync, so that the Hurd better follows POSIX. Diego Nieto Cid worked on allowing privileged users to set their task priority (nice value). His patches landed in glibc and GNU Mach. He also fixed a tiny bug in our test suite. He fixed an adjtime bug, which is helpful to the OpenNTPD port, and he fixed two more bugs. Paulo Duarte sent a RFC patch series trying to commit Sergey's previous AA

At Feedzai, we started exploring ways to generate data distribution-aware descriptions for scatterplots from their respective images using recent multimodal AI models. When the raw data is not available, or the datasets are composed of several thousand or million instances, relying on chart images and these models becomes tempting.
